Hello and Welcome
According to Amazon, Instagram, and my friends, I am an Author. But due to my strong and unnecessarily low self-esteem, I can’t believe it. I have self-published three books, but to call myself an Author sounds weird and unbelievable.
Upon the publication of my third book, a dear friend sent me a text, and told me in person, that she was amazed at my book, and my words, and she told me “You are an Author!” I let her words simmer in my mind and heart, turning them over and over until they began to plant their seeds of truth, and with that, something began to grow.
The desire and urge to put aside doubt and the voices of lies, and actually begin to think, act, and be what God has created me to be. An Author, a writer of truth, a spinner of words, making them come to life. And so I introduce Of Ink and Petals. A place I can share my writings, thoughts, and words. You might be wondering a couple of different things. First, where did the name come from? What does it mean?
Well, I wanted something unique, something beyond the norm, something that also kept to the theme of my writing. The ink is for the words, and the petals represent a long-standing theme in my books and writing. Staying firmly rooted in God and not bending to the world.
In order to bloom beautifully, you must be rooted in healthy, good ground to produce firm roots. We need to devote ourselves to developing a firm root system anchored deep in God and His Word. One that will hold firm when the winds of trials and hard times come or when the world tries to push us toward doing something that goes against God.
And that is what you will find here. Writings that will encourage a firm root system in God and His Word.
